Israel Implements Ban on Forced Labor Imports to Align with Global Standards
Israel has announced a ban on the import of goods produced using forced labor, aligning with international trade standards. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's proposal was approved, emphasizing the moral, economic, and strategic importance of the move. The directive instructs the Economy and Industry Ministry to establish regulations in accordance with international law. An enforcement mechanism will be developed, including criteria for identifying products made with forced labor, a reporting system, and appeal processes. The National Economic Council is tasked with creating this enforcement method, to be submitted for government approval within 90 days. The ban underscores Israel's commitment to human rights and fair trade, aiming to prevent the entry of exploitative products into its markets.
