Park Ridge Fire Department Responds to Severe House Fire, Residents and Pets Safe
A late Saturday night fire severely damaged a home on Parkside Drive in Park Ridge, as reported by the Park Ridge Fire Department. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene around 11:30 p.m. and upon arrival, observed light smoke emanating from the house. Upon entry, they discovered a working fire in the basement. The response was upgraded to a confirmed fire, prompting additional fire companies from neighboring communities to assist. The residents had evacuated safely before the firefighters arrived, but reported that two dogs were still inside. Fire personnel successfully rescued the dogs and ensured their safety. The fire was fought defensively until it was extinguished, with a crew deployed to the basement to address any remaining fire. No injuries were reported among civilians or fire personnel. The fire is classified as accidental, with the cause yet to be determined. The estimated damage to the home and its contents is $200,000.
