Six MSC Vessels Escape Strait of Hormuz Amid Ongoing U.S.-Iran Tensions
Six MSC container ships have successfully escaped the Strait of Hormuz by turning off their AIS transponders, amid ongoing tensions between the U.S., Iran, and Israel. The ships, including the largest stranded vessel, MSC Clara, resumed transmission once safely in the Arabian Sea. This escape reduces the number of stranded containerships in the Gulf to fewer than 100. The situation remains volatile, with Iran vowing retaliation after the U.S. seized an Iranian-operated vessel.
