8-Year-Old Milwaukee Boy Returns Home After Being Hit by Car, Community Rallies
An 8-year-old boy, Za'Marion Hines, was welcomed home by nearly 100 community members in Milwaukee, less than 24 hours after being hit by a car while riding his bicycle. The incident occurred Thursday night near 21st and Burleigh. Za'Marion, who sustained injuries in the crash, was greeted with cheers during a peace and unity rally held at Moody Park. The crowd chanted, “We love you, Za'Marion,” as they celebrated his return. Police reported that the crash happened just after 7:45 p.m. Thursday, and the driver involved was arrested on charges of operating while revoked and an ignition interlock violation. Despite his injuries preventing him from walking, Za'Marion joined the event, riding in a car accompanied by friends, demonstrating the community's strong support.
