Georgia Voters Head to Polls for Special Election in 13th District
On July 28, 2026, voters in Georgia's 13th Congressional District participated in a special election to fill the seat left vacant by the late Congressman David Scott. The election featured a mix of Democratic and Republican candidates, with Marcye Scott, Everton Blair, Tony Brown, and Carlos Moore running as Democrats, and Cesar Gonzales and Fayth Park representing the Republicans. The district, which covers parts of Clayton, DeKalb, Gwinnett, Henry, Newton, and Rockdale Counties, is predominantly Democratic. The winner of this election will serve until January, when the term would have naturally ended. If no candidate achieves a majority, a runoff will be held on August 25, 2026.
