Mark Sanford Joins South Carolina Senate Race Following Lindsey Graham's Passing
Mark Sanford, former South Carolina Governor and U.S. Representative, has announced his candidacy for the Senate seat vacated by the late Lindsey Graham. Despite President Trump's endorsement of Graham's sister, Darline Graham, Sanford has decided to enter the race, emphasizing his commitment to preserving the American dream. The special primary election will feature several Republican candidates, including Reps. Russell Fry and Ralph Norman, attorney Duke Buckner, and businessman Mark Lynch. A recent poll shows Norman leading among the declared candidates, although former Rep. Trey Gowdy, who has not announced a bid, is the poll's frontrunner.
