IDF Criticized for Inaction on Explosive Drone Threat from Hezbollah
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have been criticized for failing to implement a comprehensive defense strategy against explosive drones used by Hezbollah over the past 18 months. Despite recognizing the threat, the IDF has not deployed effective technological or passive defense systems. Instead, reserve soldiers have resorted to makeshift solutions, such as protective netting and improvised countermeasures inspired by tactics used in Ukraine. The drones, which use fiber-optic cables, are difficult to detect and have been increasingly used by Hezbollah, posing a significant threat to Israeli troops.
