Animal Control Officers Rescue Abandoned Dogs in Georgia Cemetery, Owners Face Charges
Animal control officers in Georgia responded to a distress call at McWilliams Cemetery, where they discovered three abandoned dogs. Two of the dogs were found emaciated and wandering among the headstones, while a third dog, later named Miracle, was discovered in critical condition inside a drainage pipe. The officers worked to free Miracle and rushed her to a veterinarian for emergency care. The dogs' owners have been identified, and criminal charges of animal cruelty and abandonment have been filed. The Walker County Animal Shelter, which took in the dogs, is currently overcapacity and urging the public to adopt pets to help create space for incoming animals.
