Detroit Apartment Complex Faces Tenant Complaints Over Vermin and Security Issues
Residents of the Millie on Brush apartment complex in downtown Detroit have raised serious complaints about the living conditions, including infestations of rats and roaches, and security problems. Allanah Morales, a tenant, has reported multiple incidents, including vermin in the lobby and security breaches. The building, managed by Village Green since December 2024, has been subject to corrective action orders from Detroit's Buildings, Safety Engineering, and Environmental Department (BSEED). Despite hiring an extermination company, the management has been criticized for not acting swiftly enough. Morales, along with the Detroit Tenants Union, is advocating for better living conditions and has faced retaliation for her complaints.
