U.S. and Israel Target Iranian Nuclear Weaponization Sites in Strategic Strikes
Recent military operations by the United States and Israel have focused on degrading Iran's nuclear weaponization capabilities. According to an analysis by the Institute for Science and International Security (ISIS), these operations, named Operation Roaring Lion and Operation Epic Fury, prioritized targeting facilities related to the weaponization of enriched uranium rather than nuclear enrichment sites. Key targets included the Min Zadai site, described as a 'nuclear headquarters' for developing nuclear weapons systems, and Taleghan 2, a fortified facility within Iran's Parchin military complex. Additionally, universities in Tehran linked to nuclear development, such as Malek Ashtar University and Imam Hussein University, were heavily damaged. These strikes are part of ongoing efforts to prevent Iran from advancing its nuclear weapons capabilities.
