Ghirardelli Recalls Powdered Drink Mixes Due to Salmonella Risk Affecting Food Service Industry
Ghirardelli Chocolate Company has announced a recall of several powdered beverage mixes due to potential salmonella contamination. This recall follows a similar action by California Dairies, Inc., which identified salmonella in powdered milk used as an ingredient in these mixes. The affected products are primarily distributed to restaurants and other food service industry clients, though some consumer products may have been sold online. Ghirardelli has stated that neither they, their third-party manufacturer, nor the milk powder supplier have received any reports of illness or injury related to this issue. The company is actively working with partners to return or dispose of the potentially contaminated products.
