Seven Individuals Shot in West Tuscaloosa Reunion Event, All Victims Stable
Seven individuals, including juveniles, were shot during a reunion event in West Tuscaloosa. The incident occurred late Saturday night in the 2600 block of 22nd Street, where a large crowd had gathered for an outdoor block party. Captain Marty Sellers, co-commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit (VCU), reported that Tuscaloosa Police and the VCU responded to the mass shooting. Officers provided immediate medical aid to the injured until emergency medical services arrived. The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office and the University of Alabama Police Department assisted in securing the scene and managing the crowd. As of Sunday morning, all seven victims, three of whom initially sustained serious injuries, were reported to be in stable condition. No arrests have been made, and the VCU is actively investigating, having spoken with multiple witnesses.
