India's Industrial Output Accelerates with Manufacturing and Electricity Growth
India's industrial output increased by 7.3% in June 2026, up from 5.1% in May, driven by significant growth in manufacturing and electricity supply. The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) reported that manufacturing expanded by 7.8%, while electricity and gas supply grew by 10.6%. The mining sector saw a modest increase, and water supply improved gradually. The methodology for compiling the industrial output index was revised, adopting the Output Producer Price Index (Output PPI) as the deflator, enhancing measurement precision.
