Germany Plans Significant Increase in Direct Military Aid to Ukraine for 2027
Germany is set to increase its military aid to Ukraine by over €744 million in 2027, according to a draft budget. This increase will primarily focus on direct assistance to Ukraine, rather than replenishing Germany's own military stocks. The overall budget line for assistance to countries affected by aggression will total €11.612 billion, with approximately €9.05 billion specifically earmarked for Ukraine. While the total increase over 2026 appears to be around €65 million, a substantial portion of 2026's funding was allocated to restocking the Bundeswehr.
