NATO Allies Commit $60 Billion in Military Aid to Ukraine for 2026, Focusing on Defense Needs
NATO allies have pledged approximately $60 billion in military and security assistance to Ukraine for the year 2026. This announcement was made by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte during a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in Berlin. The aid package is intended to supplement a €90 billion loan package from the European Union and will prioritize air defense, drones, and extended-range ammunition. The meeting, known as the Ramstein, serves as a platform for coordinating military support for Ukraine among NATO members and partner countries. Germany and the UK have also announced significant defense contributions, including a €4 billion package from Germany and a large drone package from the UK.
