Subashni Shobana Lal, a determined mother from Ba, Fiji, has turned personal adversity into a successful farming venture, Freedom Farms Fiji, to secure a better future for her daughter. After her marriage ended, Lal returned to her roots in agriculture, leveraging the farming knowledge she acquired from her parents. Her farm now produces a variety of crops and livestock, with a focus on mushroom production. Lal has also implemented innovative practices such as using black soldier fly larvae as chicken feed and growing drought-resistant juncao grass.
