Advocate Health Reports Strong Financial Performance with 4% Operating Margin in 2025
Advocate Health, the third-largest nonprofit health system in the United States, has reported significant financial gains for the year 2025. The organization achieved over $38.9 billion in total revenue, marking a nearly 12% increase from the previous year. Total expenses rose by about 11% to $37.4 billion, resulting in an operating income of more than $1.5 billion and a 4.0% operating margin. This is an improvement from the 3.5% operating margin reported in 2024. The health system's various business units, including Advocate Aurora Health and Atrium Health, contributed to these gains. Advocate Health also saw a 4.5% increase in total bedded patients, with nearly 750,000 patients, and a rise in surgeries and emergency department visits. The system's leadership attributes these successes to its 2022 merger, which has led to $1.5 billion in annual operating savings and the creation of 23,000 jobs.
