Germany Achieves Record Solar Power Generation, Highlighting Renewable Energy Growth
In July 2026, Germany's photovoltaic sector achieved a new milestone by feeding approximately 12 billion kWh of solar power into the public electricity grid, according to data from the European grid operator platform ENTSO-E. This record-breaking output underscores the growing role of solar energy in Germany's electricity supply, particularly during peak demand periods. The Internationales Wirtschaftsforum Regenerative Energien (IWR) highlighted that the average midday solar output exceeded 40,000 MW, equivalent to the output of over 40 nuclear power plants. This development reflects the significant investments made by private homeowners, businesses, and the government in solar technology over the past two decades.
