Hells Hill Fire Erupts on BLM Land Near Marcola, Prompting Multi-Agency Response
A wildfire, known as the Hells Hill Fire, has ignited on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) forestland near Marcola, Oregon. The fire, which started after a lightning storm, has grown to 9 acres and is currently 44% contained. Firefighting efforts are underway, involving resources from the Oregon Department of Forestry, Mohawk Valley Rural Fire District, and the Bureau of Land Management. Weyerhaeuser, a timber company with land adjacent to the fire, is providing additional support with equipment and access to water resources.
