Smithsonian Program Selects Talbot Middle School for STEAM Initiative
Edmond P. Talbot Middle School in Fall River, Massachusetts, has been chosen as one of eight schools nationwide to participate in a multi-year initiative to become a Smithsonian STEAM School of Distinction. This selection marks the beginning of a three-year program led by the Smithsonian Science Education Center, aimed at integrating science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) into the school's curriculum and culture. A team from the school is currently attending a five-day Strategic Planning Institute in Washington, D.C., where they are collaborating with Smithsonian educators and peers to develop a comprehensive five-year plan.
