U.S. House Judiciary Committee Investigates FIFA and Trump Administration Corruption Allegations
Rep. Jamie Raskin, Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee, has initiated an investigation into alleged corruption involving FIFA and the Trump Administration. The investigation focuses on claims that FIFA engaged in a quid pro quo with President Trump, including leasing office space in Trump Tower at inflated costs and creating a bogus 'peace prize' for Trump. In return, the Trump Administration allegedly abandoned anti-corruption enforcement, allowing FIFA to operate with impunity. The investigation also examines FIFA's ticketing practices during the World Cup, which reportedly involved price gouging and fraudulent sales tactics.
