Washington Terrace Fire Forces Evacuations and Damages Property
A fire in an undeveloped area south of Washington Terrace, Weber County, has burned approximately 75 acres, prompting mandatory evacuations for some residents. The fire, named the Adams Fire, threatened a residential area, causing minor damage to one home and heavy damage to a trailer. A Weber County sheriff's deputy and a resident sustained minor injuries. The fire's cause is under investigation, with officials working to identify and preserve the source of origin for a thorough investigation. The fire zone is located near a railroad line, the Weber River, and I-84, just north of the Davis County line. Evacuations were ordered for the area along 5500 South, south to the fire line, and from Adams Avenue west to 500 West. The Riverdale trail was closed due to firefighting efforts, and a temporary shelter was set up at the Senior Center at 4301 S. 300 West.
