Tropical Storm Bertha Expected to Form in Gulf of Mexico
Tropical Depression Two, currently located south of Panama City, Florida, is forecast to strengthen into Tropical Storm Bertha by Monday. The system is expected to bring heavy rainfall and potential flooding to areas along the Gulf Coast, including the Florida Panhandle, Louisiana, and Texas. Once its winds reach 40 mph, it will officially be named Tropical Storm Bertha, marking the second named storm of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season. The storm's exact track remains uncertain, but it could approach the Louisiana coast by midweek and potentially move into Texas thereafter.
