U.S. Treasury Targets Iranian Financier Zanjani's Network, Impacting Sanctions Evasion
The U.S. Department of the Treasury has intensified its efforts to dismantle the network of Iranian financier Babak Zanjani, who is known for his role in sanctions evasion. The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has designated four individuals and nine entities linked to Zanjani's operations, which include financial services, gold production, and digital asset trading. Zanjani's network, operating under the 'Dot One' conglomerate, has been involved in laundering revenue and facilitating covert fund movements through Iran and offshore. This action is part of a broader strategy to cut off economic access for corrupt Iranian regime elites and their facilitators.
