FFA SpeakAg Pioneers Advocate for Agriculture on Capitol Hill, Engaging with Legislators on National Ag Day
A group of National FFA's SpeakAg Pioneers gathered in Washington, D.C. on March 24th to celebrate National Ag Day. These young agricultural advocates, including state FFA officers, met with legislators to promote the importance of the agriculture industry. The event also featured participation from other agricultural organizations such as Agriculture Future of America, 4-H, and Minorities in Agriculture Natural Resources and Related Sciences. The SpeakAg Pioneer program, which is open to current state FFA officers through an application process, aims to provide a platform for young leaders to engage with policymakers and raise awareness about agricultural issues. Participants, like Indiana FFA State Secretary Lauren Argotte, had the opportunity to attend various events, collaborate with other organizations, and create promotional content for agriculture.
