Clark County Hosts Back-to-School Event Providing Supplies and Safety Gear
Clark County Commissioner William McCurdy II organized a back-to-school event at Walnut Community Center, offering free backpacks, school supplies, helmets, and booster seats to families. The event, which attracted hundreds despite high temperatures, aimed to prepare students for the upcoming school year. University Medical Center staff were present to distribute helmets and educate families on safety near school zones, highlighting that many students treated for bike or scooter injuries were not wearing helmets. The event also provided opportunities for children to receive vaccines and sports physicals, ensuring families could access all necessary preparations in one location.
