Wendy's Employee Heads to Yale with Support from Managers
Thalles De Souza, a former Wendy's employee, is set to attend Yale University this fall, thanks to the support of his managers at the restaurant. De Souza, who worked at a Wendy's in Massachusetts, was encouraged by his managers, Usama El-Sehrawey and Terry Smily, to pursue higher education. They offered to set aside money for his college education for every hour he worked. This support enabled De Souza to attend Cape Cod Community College and eventually apply to Yale, where he plans to major in political science with a minor in human rights.
