Lynchburg City Council Campaign Sign Vandalized with Antisemitic Imagery, Prompting Community Outcry
A campaign sign supporting three Democratic candidates for Lynchburg City Council—Christina Delzingaro, Dave Henderson, and Nat Marshall—was vandalized earlier this week with profanity, graffiti, swastikas, and other antisemitic imagery. The sign, belonging to the political organization Lynchburg Better Together, was located near Vassar Street and Langhorne Road. Candidate Dave Henderson was first alerted to the vandalism on Friday night, with other texts confirming the incident on Saturday morning. Nat Marshall was among the first to respond in person, taking down the sign and contacting the Lynchburg Police Department. A detective has been assigned to the case, and the investigation is ongoing. The candidates expressed their dismay at the hateful nature of the vandalism, particularly the swastikas, given Delzingaro's involvement with the Holocaust Education Foundation of Central Virginia.
