Senator Tom Cotton Criticized for Evading Questions on President Trump's Policies
Senator Tom Cotton is facing criticism for allegedly evading questions regarding his stance on numerous policies and actions of President Trump. According to a guest column in the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Cotton, along with Representative French Hill, has remained silent on approximately two dozen examples of actions by President Trump that the author describes as unconstitutional, illegal, unethical, and immoral. The author, Ray Hanley, states that Cotton's D.C.-based press secretary, Hannah McCarthy, contacted him after his initial guest piece ran, promising to get answers to his questions, but has yet to do so. Hanley suggests that Cotton supports President Trump's positions without question, while Hill, though aware of the destructive nature of some actions, avoids criticism. Both politicians have reportedly declined invitations to debate opponents and have avoided town halls, with Senator Cotton having avoided them for 10 years.
