Man Detained in Guthrie Search Seeks $3M From Deputies Over Alleged Misconduct
Carlos Palazuelos, a DoorDash driver, has filed a notice of claim against the Pima County Sheriff's Department in Arizona, seeking over $3 million. Palazuelos was briefly detained during the search for Nancy Guthrie, the missing mother of Savannah Guthrie, a co-host of the Today show. He alleges that deputies assaulted him, falsely arrested him, defamed him, and caused property damage during a search of his car and home. Palazuelos claims the search warrant was based on misleading information and lacked probable cause. The sheriff's office has not commented on the claims due to pending litigation but stated that the investigation into Nancy Guthrie's disappearance remains active. Nancy Guthrie has been missing since February 1, and her daughter continues to seek information about her whereabouts.
