Sheriff Warns of Child Predators Using Online Platforms Like Roblox
Livingston Parish deputies in Louisiana executed a search warrant at a suspect's home, discovering him using voice-changing technology to pose as a teenage girl while communicating with a child online. The suspect, a registered sex offender, was found actively using Roblox, a popular online gaming app among children. This incident is part of a broader crackdown on child sex predators in the state, which has led to numerous arrests. Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill highlighted the severity of the issue, noting that the state is on track to receive 90,000 tips about online child exploitation this year. Roblox, while disputing the allegations, claims to have implemented extensive safety measures to protect its users.
