Lightning Delay Disrupts Oregon State Baseball Game in Corvallis
On Friday, the Oregon State baseball game against Cal Poly was interrupted by a 105-minute lightning delay in Corvallis. The game, initially moved up due to anticipated inclement weather, faced persistent rainfall and thunder, causing players and fans to seek shelter. The delay began at 5:54 PM local time, with thunder heard in the distance, and play resumed at 7:39 PM. Despite the weather challenges, Oregon State managed to secure a 6-3 victory over Cal Poly. The game continued under rainy conditions, thanks to the turf playing surface, which allowed uninterrupted play despite rain-slicked baseballs posing challenges.
