Seattle Police Investigate Fatal Belltown Shooting, One Teenager Dead and Another Man Injured
Seattle police are currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the Belltown neighborhood, resulting in the death of a 17-year-old male and serious injuries to a 21-year-old male. The incident took place shortly after 11:44 p.m. near Elliott Avenue and Bell Street. Upon arrival, officers found the 17-year-old with a gunshot wound and provided immediate aid, but medics pronounced him deceased at the scene. The 21-year-old male, also suffering from a gunshot wound, was transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition. The investigation suggests that an altercation preceded the shooting. Interim Chief Sayles, Assistant Chief Powell, and units from the Homicide/Assault Unit and Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded to the scene. As of now, the suspect has not been apprehended, and Homicide Unit detectives are actively working to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
