Ukrainian Soldiers Use Drone to Rescue Stranded Cat and Dog from Front Lines
In war-torn Ukraine, a cat named Barsik and a dog named Zagybluk were rescued from the front lines by Ukrainian soldiers using a drone. The 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade conducted the operation, airlifting the animals to safety. The animals were familiar to the troops, having been companions during the conflict. The rescue involved placing the animals in breathable pouches and flying them approximately 10 kilometers to safety. This operation highlights the ongoing efforts by Ukrainian forces and animal rights groups to protect animals amidst the conflict. UAnimals, a major animal rights organization in Ukraine, has evacuated over 10,000 animals since the invasion began, providing medical care and shelter.
