Level 3 Evacuations Ordered Due to Grass Fire Along Oregon-Idaho Border
Authorities have issued Level 3 evacuation orders for areas near Jordan Valley, Oregon, due to a rapidly spreading grass fire known as the Big Grass Fire. The fire has already consumed 220,000 acres and is only 5% contained. The Owyhee County Sheriff's Office has advised residents in Pleasant Valley, South Mountain, and Jordan Valley to evacuate immediately. The fire is obstructing some roadways, and officials are directing evacuees to use Pleasant Valley Road toward Jordan Valley and then North on US-95.
