Joseph Tomei, Longtime Gurnee Community Member, Passes Away at 92
Joseph Louis Tomei, a beloved figure in the Gurnee, Illinois community, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on April 5, 2026. Tomei was known for his deep connection to the University of Illinois, where he met his wife Donna, and for his role in the local community through the Tomei Insurance Agency, which he operated for nearly fifty years. He was a passionate individual who enjoyed traveling, golf, and home projects, and was dedicated to his family and friends. Tomei is survived by his four sons, eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation services are scheduled for April 10, 2026, at Warren Cemetery & Funeral Home in Gurnee.
