Aptar Pharma and Aceso Therapeutics Collaborate to Advance Inhaled Cystic Fibrosis Therapy
Aptar Pharma, a leader in drug delivery technologies, has announced a collaboration with Aceso Therapeutics, a biotech company focused on novel cystic fibrosis (CF) therapies. This partnership aims to advance the development of ACT-101, an antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) candidate designed to target the underlying disease mechanisms of CF. Aptar Pharma's specialist inhalation development services business, Nanopharm, will lead the formulation development and device assessment activities for ACT-101. This initiative is part of Aptar Pharma's broader biologics compatibility program, which evaluates how complex biologic molecules interact with their pulmonary and nasal delivery platforms. Cystic fibrosis is a rare, inherited disease that severely damages the lungs, digestive system, and other organs, affecting approximately 100,000 people worldwide. The collaboration seeks to accelerate ACT-101's development towards clinical evaluation, exploring its potential through direct delivery to the lung.
