Lowy Institute Highlights Authoritarian States' Efforts to Rewire Global Order
The Lowy Institute, an independent Australian think tank, has highlighted the efforts of authoritarian states such as China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea to reshape the global order. These countries are forming coalitions to counter liberal institutions and ideas, aiming to create a new illiberal order. The Institute emphasizes the need for countries like Australia to strengthen their social and economic infrastructure to counter these emerging coalitions. The report suggests that while these authoritarian states are cooperating, their alliances are not yet cohesive, with diverse and sometimes conflicting interests.
