Judge Issues Injunction Against Oxfordshire Flag Activists Over Unauthorized Displays
A judge has issued an injunction against members of the Raise The Colours group in Oxfordshire, who have been placing flags on or near public roads without permission. Despite a formal legal notice issued in March and pre-action legal letters sent in May, the group continued their activities, leading to legal action. Mr. Justice Dexter Dias granted the injunction against Kevin Good, a group member, and noted that Ben Cullen, another member, is facing unrelated serious criminal charges, which he denies. The council has spent significant resources, approximately £80,000 on flag removal and £40,000 on legal costs, which it plans to recover. The council leader, Tim Bearder, expressed satisfaction with the judgment, emphasizing that the ruling sets a legal precedent to deter similar activities across the country.
