Oregon Hosts Webinars on Disaster Preparedness for Rural Communities
The Oregon Department of Emergency Management is organizing a series of free webinars aimed at enhancing disaster preparedness in rural communities across the state. These webinars, titled 'Rural Communities Prepared for Disasters,' are designed to equip participants with the necessary tools and insights to effectively respond to natural disasters such as floods, extreme heat, and wildfires. The first session, scheduled for April 22, will focus on preparedness and response strategies, including maintaining communication during disruptions, evacuation protocols, and backup power options. The second session, set for May 13, will address recovery and long-term support, covering funding mechanisms, recovery processes, and community involvement in recovery efforts.
