West Liberty Labor Day Festival to Feature Vintage Threshing Machine Demonstration
The West Liberty Labor Day Festival, scheduled for September 4-7, 2026, at Lions Club Park, will showcase a vintage threshing machine demonstration. This event will highlight traditional threshing methods used over a century ago, offering visitors a glimpse into Ohio's agricultural heritage. Jason Hoffman, an engineer and antique machinery enthusiast from Champaign County, has restored a vintage threshing machine that will be used to separate grain from chaff and straw, replicating the process before modern combines. The demonstration will also feature other vintage equipment, including a 1918 Waterloo Boy tractor and a Farmall Super M tractor, used to gather wheat bundles for threshing.
