Jetstar and Qatar Airways Planes in Near-Miss Incident at Sydney Airport
A near-miss incident occurred at Sydney Airport involving a Jetstar flight and a Qatar Airways plane. The Jetstar flight, carrying 180 passengers, was taxiing when the pilot noticed a Qatar Airways Boeing 777 being towed nearby. The Jetstar pilot applied the brakes abruptly to avoid a collision, resulting in a flight attendant sustaining minor injuries. The Qatar Airways plane was not carrying passengers at the time. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the incident, which is the second such occurrence at the airport in recent weeks. Airservices Australia, responsible for air traffic control, is working to minimize delays and improve safety protocols.
