Severe Thunderstorm and Tornado Watches Issued Across Maryland
Maryland is experiencing a First Alert Weather Day due to severe thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rain, strong winds, and isolated tornadoes. A Tornado Watch is in effect until 10 p.m. for Baltimore City and multiple counties, including Anne Arundel, Harford, and Montgomery. Additionally, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch covers Washington, Frederick, and Allegany counties until 10 p.m. A Flood Watch is also active for parts of Howard, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Harford, and Cecil counties until 2 a.m. Wednesday. Scattered storms are developing in Pennsylvania and are expected to move into Maryland this afternoon, with some becoming severe. Temperatures are in the 80s, and conditions are muggy, contributing to the storm activity. The stormy weather is expected to taper off from west to east around sunset.
