Missing Atlanta Children Found Safe, Babysitter in Custody After Amber Alert
Two young sisters, Zola Cooper, 4, and Norah Cooper, 11 months old, who were reported missing and believed to have been abducted by their babysitter, have been found safe in Atlanta. The children were located on Monday after an Amber Alert was issued. Atlanta Police confirmed that the girls were taken to the hospital for monitoring and are being reunited with their mother. The suspect, identified as Lakesha Brown, the babysitter, is now in custody. According to Lt. Christapher Butler with Atlanta Police, the suspect had gained the mother's trust over approximately a year. Police located Brown in a trailer home along the 2000 block of Sylvan Road, utilizing technology to aid in the search. The children were last seen around 6 p.m. on Saturday along James P. Brawley Drive NW. The Amber Alert has since been canceled.
