AI Simulations Enhance Teacher-Parent Meeting Strategies in Bibb County
In Bibb County, Georgia, a pilot program is utilizing AI simulations to improve teacher-parent meetings. The initiative, part of the Emerging Educators program, aims to support new teachers transitioning from non-education fields. Teachers engage in AI-based simulations that mimic real-life parent meetings, allowing them to practice handling various scenarios. These simulations, developed by Branch Alliance for Educator Diversity (BranchED), provide teachers with interactive experiences where they can navigate conversations with virtual parent avatars. The program includes debriefing sessions with mentors to discuss strategies and outcomes. This approach addresses the lack of formal training in family engagement, as highlighted by a 2022 study from the National Association for Family, School and Community Engagement.
