Asia Link Cable Lands in Hong Kong, Enhancing Regional Connectivity
The Asia Link Cable (ALC) has successfully landed at the Chung Hom Kok Cable Landing Station in Hong Kong, marking a significant milestone for the project. The 6,200km ALC system is designed to connect China, including Hong Kong and Hainan Island, with Singapore, and extends to the Philippines, Vietnam, Brunei, and Malaysia. The cable system, valued at over $300 million, is led by a consortium headed by China Telecom. The ALC is expected to support high-bandwidth and low-latency applications, crucial for cloud computing and AI models, and will enhance Hong Kong's role as an international innovation and technology hub.
