Central Nebraska Reports Cyclosporiasis Cases Amid Rising Illness Numbers
In Central Nebraska, cases of cyclosporiasis have been reported, with three patients visiting Hastings Family Care exhibiting symptoms. Mary Lanning Healthcare confirmed the presence of the illness through testing. Symptoms include severe diarrhea, loss of appetite, weight loss, cramping, bloating, increased gas, nausea, and fatigue. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reported at least 6,700 confirmed cases of cyclosporiasis with 423 hospitalizations since May 1.
