Valerie Hillings Appointed Director of Guggenheim Abu Dhabi
Valerie Hillings has been named the inaugural director of the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, set to open on December 11. Hillings, a veteran of the Guggenheim, previously served as curator and associate director of curatorial affairs for the Abu Dhabi project. She returns after leading the North Carolina Museum of Art, where she expanded the collection and increased attendance. Hillings will oversee the largest branch in the Guggenheim's network, focusing on art from West Asia, North Africa, and South Asia. The museum's opening marks a significant cultural milestone for the region.
