Metropolitan Police Pursuit in London Results in Serious Injuries and Arrests
A police pursuit in Ilford, East London, led to a serious crash involving a stolen vehicle, resulting in ten injuries. The Metropolitan Police attempted to stop a car believed to be stolen, but the vehicle did not comply, prompting a chase. The pursuit ended in a collision at the junction of Barley Lane and High Road, involving another car and a moped. Nine individuals were hospitalized, with five sustaining serious injuries. The driver, a woman in her 20s, was arrested on charges of dangerous driving, theft, and failing to stop. Additionally, four passengers from the pursued vehicle were arrested on suspicion of being in a stolen vehicle. The incident has been referred to the Directorate of Professional Standards and the Independent Office for Police Conduct for review.
