Cambodia's Agriculture Ministry Urges Farmers to Form Modern Communities
The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in Cambodia is intensifying efforts to establish modern agricultural communities. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to transform the agriculture sector from a family-based model to integrated agro-economic enterprises. As of 2025, nearly 30 such communities have been established, focusing on strategic crops like rice, vegetables, cashew nuts, and pepper. The ministry aims to enhance the sector's competitiveness and resilience, supporting rural development and food security. Financial support is being provided through loans from various banks, with a special credit package of $35 million approved for 2025-2027.
